Valentine’s Day is a time to look back on the times that you have shared with your significant other and truly show your appreciation. Valentine’s Day is a cause for celebration of the life you share together, and what better way to celebrate than with festive cocktails? Whether you are cooking a fancy dinner at home, or spending the night in after a special date, these cocktails will help to spice things up this Valentine’s Day.

Pomegranates are widely cultivated in Mexican regions and are a unique fruit. Show how unique your love is with this tantalizing recipe.

  • 1.5 cups of pomegranate juice
  • 2 ounces vodka
  • 1 ounce orange liqueur
  • Juice of one lemon

Mix all ingredients together with ice in a shaker. Pour into a martini glasses and garnish with a slice of lemon. This drink pairs wonderfully with heart-shaped chocolate.

Strawberry Margarita

To go along with the timeless theme of chocolate dipped strawberries, this drink will have your date begging for more. Garnish with a chocolate covered strawberry for added romance.

  • ½ cup pureed fresh strawberries (For a sweeter drink, use frozen strawberries in syrup.)
  • 1.5 ounces tequila
  • 1 ounce orange liqueur
  • 1.5 ounces freshly squeezed lime juice

Rim your margarita glass with a lime wedge and then dip in margarita salt. Combine the other ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Pour over ice and garnish with a lime and a strawberry. The salt on the rim makes this a drink that pairs well with salty foods.

Raspberries and Cream

Raspberries are the more elegant, lesser used Valentine staple. Treat your sweetheart with a dessert and a cocktail at the same time with this tasty drink.

  • Handful of fresh raspberries
  • 1.5 ounces Irish cream

Muddle a few raspberries at the bottom of the glass. Add ice, and then pour the Irish cream over the mixture. Garnish with a few more raspberries on a cocktail spear, or freeze them and then float them in the drink. Pair with your other dessert plans for an evening to remember.
