Easter is a holiday that is celebrated by many in the United States. It is also celebrated in Mexico, where there is an entire week dedicated to the holiday. We are pretty sure that during this week, there may be a margarita or two being enjoyed. In honor of this holiday, we decided to put a little Easter twist on these classic Mexican drinks.
Carrot Easter-ita Margarita
It’s not every day that you hear of carrot juice in any cocktail, let alone a margarita. But we made an exception for Easter. This recipe even turns the drink orange, like a carrot!
1/2 cup carrot juice
1/2 cup tequila
1/4 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
1/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
1/4 cup sugar
2 cups ice
To a blender add all ingredients and blend! Garnish with a chocolate carrot and dip rim in green sugar!
Marshmallow Rita
While marshmallows aren’t exactly Easter-like, Peeps sure are! Garnish this drink with a marshmallow Peep to create a cute, unexpected look. This recipe is something different than the typical margarita because it entails some different flavors rather than the traditional fruit that most ritas have.
1 1/4 oz Smirnoff Fluffed Marshmallow Vodka
1/4 oz Cuervo Gold Tequila
3/4 oz Lime Juice
1/2 oz Triple Sec
Shake in an ice filled shaker and strain into Martini Glass.
Eggnog Margarita
While eggnog is traditionally more of a Christmas drink, it can be tasty all year long! This can be a great drink to sip on while the kids are doing an Easter egg hunt.
3 parts Egg Nog
1 part Sauza Conmemorativo® Tequila
1 part Bourbon
Cinnamon and Sugar for garnish
As for that Cupcake…
We know you were wondering where the heck we were going with that cupcake line. Introducing the Strawberry Margarita Cupcake! It would be the perfect dessert ending to any Easter meal. Ingredients include:
Boxed white cake mix
1 cup strawberry margarita/daiquiri mix (liquid)
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup tequila
3 eggs
These do contain alcohol, so they should be an “adults only” dessert. Find the rest of the directions here.
If you want a margarita on Easter, but don’t want to make your own, head on over to Casa Blanca in North Andover, North Billerica, or Andover, MA. They have some of the best margaritas around.
