The holiday season is a time of year to spend with close friends and family and show gratitude towards those that mean most. It is also a time of year known for festivities and parties. Chances are, you’ve been invited to at least one party this year. Holiday parties are more often than not organized in potluck style. If you are the person in charge of drinks this year, then do we have the recipe for you.
A holiday twist on the popular Mexican margarita is a great way to serve your guests something unique that still pairs well with the holiday meal. And what would a holiday celebration be without cranberries? Cranberry sauce on the table, cranberries strung on the Christmas tree, and cranberry in your margaritas!
Cranberry Margarita Recipe
- 1.5 oz silver tequila
- 1.5 oz cranberry juice cocktail
- Juice of 1 lime
- Splash of Cointreau
- Fresh cranberries
First, rim the margarita glass with lime and then dip in the sugar. Combine the tequila, Cointreau, cranberry juice, and lime juice in a shaker with ice. Pour both mixture and ice into the glass. Dip the cranberries in water so that they are moist, and then roll them in sugar. Skewer a few cranberries on a cocktail skewer and place across the top of the glass. Serve with a slice of lime.
The tartness of the cranberries and lime mixed with the sugared rim make for the perfect blend of sweet and tart that one desires in a margarita. This holiday margarita is the perfect tradition to add to your festive repertoire.
